| Antiphospholipid antibodies are part of a heterogeneous group of autoantibodies associated with the antiphospholipid syndrome characterized clinically by arterial or venous thrombosis, thrombocytopenia, and a variety of obstetric complications. If persistent, antiphospholipid antibodies are the most common form of acquired thrombophilia.
